“Great Ladies Sing” with Artemis Matafia!
The theatrical concert “Great Ladies Sing” pays tribute to prominent female personalities of the international and Greek musical scene. These are artists who have marked artistic creation and cultural development with their talent, attitude to life and influence.
Performer Artemis Matafia takes us on a journey through the personal stories of over twenty distinguished performers of multiple musical genres: Domna Samiou, Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, Dulce Pontes, Nina Simone, Edith Piaf, Mercedes Sosa, Marlene Dietrich, Milva, Billie Holiday, Cesaria Evora, Ella Fitzgerald, Sotiria Bellou, Nana Mouskouri, Jenny Vanou, Rosa Eskenazi, Sofia Vembo, Marika Ninou, Vicki Moscholiou, Poly Panou, Rita Sakellariou, Mariza Koch, Maria Callas, etc.
Each story is presented with short first-person narratives-confessions, Artemis embodies each Lady, speaking directly to the listener and also singing a musical piece that characterises their artistic career.
The concert has won the impressions and love of the audience, presented with great success at the "Little Paris of Athens" as part of its events for the period 2021-2022, and at the cultural events of the Municipality of Monemvasia in the summer of 2023, continuing its course in the legendary musical wagon at the Train to Rouf in 2024-2025 but also in various municipalities within Greece. The musical performance, after great success, continues at the Train to Rouf in 2025-26.

Performer and actress Artemis Matafia
Her career began in Thessaloniki, with an emphasis on “Smyrna” and “Rebetiko” singing with musical groups of the city. At the same time, she participates in theatrical performances, creates musical groups and programs, while at the same time she is involved in traditional dances. (XOFETH, Lyceum of Greek Women, Dora Stratou). She is an accredited dance teacher by the organisation CID (International Dance Council).
She then attended musical theatre seminars in Greece and England, strengthening her skills in performance and stage presence. In her career, she has collaborated with great Greek creators, composers, performers and directors, recording a series of successful collaborations.
She has won performance awards, appears in musical stages, musical theatre performances and television shows, performing works from Greek folk and rebetiko, as well as international repertoire, focusing on Mediterranean songs and musicals. She distinguished herself and participated in the National Semi-Final of 36 songs of San Marino: Una voce per San Marino, among 2500 songs from all over Europe (2024).
In 2019, she created and presented the musical performance “Great Ladies Sing”, with personal narratives and songs of Greek women and International, Legendary performers, travelling to Greece and abroad. The show is constantly presented in Athens at Treno sto Rouf.
She teaches experiential singing interpretation to voice and speech professionals and has composed music for several theatrical performances. She also works as a voice actor in films and children's series (NETFLIX).
