"If you go to Kalogeresi, you will love it."
The mountain village of Kalogeresi (next to the Arcadikos river) is located 26.5 km southeast of Kyparissia and 15 km east of Raptopoulos. It is built at an altitude of 654 meters and has about 30 permanent residents. In ancient times, the settlement area was part of the kingdom of Nestor, King of ancient Pylos. During the Venetian occupation, the village was referred to as Calogheresci, while it is also mentioned in various censuses of the Venetian Republic (1683 / 84-1715).
In the village, the visitor can see the church of the Assumption of the Virgin and the stone building of the old school, which is no longer operational.
