The mountain village of Tripyla (also known as Tripyli) is located at the foothills of Mountain Boura, near the village of Raptopoulos. Formerly it was called Mytila, while it is 28 kilometres away from Kyparissia. The village with the traditional stone houses is built at an altitude of 613 meters and has about 35 permanent residents.
In ancient times, the settlement was part of Nestor’s kingdom. In the Venetian period, it was referred to as Tripila. The settlement is also referred to in various censuses of the Venetian Pronoites of the Venetian Republic.
