Be a child's hero: Action in Kalamata on the occasion of World Childhood Cancer Day.
Spread the word
On the occasion of the World Day against Childhood Cancer, which was established to be celebrated on February 15th each year, the Municipality of Kalamata, in collaboration with A.M.K.E. "Every book a Journey - Book Travel", "Phaos" CoinSep, "Island of Love" A.M.K.E., the "Primitive Blood Cell", the "Poseidon" Nautical Club of Kalamata, "Harise Zoi", the D.I.E.K. of Nursing Assistants of the Kalamata Hospital and the Hellenic Sailing Federation, organise for the second year the voluntary action to raise awareness and support for children suffering from neoplastic diseases, supporting the "Floga" Parents and Children Association.
The event will take place on Saturday, February 17th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in front of the Kalamata Cultural Centre, in a space that symbolises citizens' spiritual and social meeting. This initiative seeks to raise awareness of childhood cancer, strengthen public health and social cohesion, and encourage the registration of new volunteer bone marrow donors.
We invite everyone aged 18-40 in good health to join this initiative and become the "Hero of a Child" through a simple and painless procedure. Joining the Bone Marrow Volunteer Donor pool does not automatically mean donating a transplant. Still, it does offer the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child dealing with blood cancer.
With your support and love, we can help the children of the "Flame" association and every child fighting against blood cancer find compatible donors and come out victorious from this difficult battle.
