Lalagia
Lalagiaare part of the Messinian tradition and are found in every household, especially during the big religious celebrations. They can be eaten either sprinkled with sugar or honey or with cheese. Women turned the dough into a thick macaroni and then folded it into different shapes. They put the lalagiainto a big pan with hot oil in order to get ready. The first one, with the cross in the center belonged to Jesus, the second one to the house, the third to the owner etc.
