The Municipality of Kalamata, in collaboration with the I.K.M.F. Greece Organisation, presents the Women's Self-Defense Seminar—STAY AWAY. It will be held on Saturday, December 14th, at 3:00 PM at the "Tenda" Indoor Gym of Kalamata.
The speaker of the Seminar is the instructor Stathakos Dimitris (Krav Maga instructor representative of I.K.M.F. Greece, member of the Global Team of the world Krav Maga Federation I.K.M.F and specialised in Women's Self-Defense and also in the presentation of the STAY AWAY programme)
STAY AWAY is the most modern and effective programme against sexual harassment and abuse of women.
Through a specialised approach to problems, which includes a deep understanding of the female temperament, many years of experience and self-defence techniques, she makes the everyday woman capable of managing them.
It also teaches how a woman will recognise the signs of a violent incident to avoid it in advance or even how she herself will set clear boundaries with someone who has decided to harass her.
Thousands of participants worldwide have learned to trust their instincts, recognise danger and ultimately stand up for themselves when all else fails.
The techniques have been specially modified to consider women's psychological world, her lagging muscle power against men, and her way of thinking.
The three-hour Seminar is aimed at women of all ages (12 years old and above). Staying away will not only save you when you need it, but it will also change your life and the way you think forever! Trust your gut, avoid danger, set clear boundaries, and react as a last resort.
It should be noted that the Seminar is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Kalamata and the Counseling for Women Victims of Violence Centre, which is part of the Welfare Department of the Municipality of Kalamata.
The Centre's interdisciplinary team, consisting of a Psychologist, a Social Worker and a sociologist, will be on-site to inform the public about the Counselling Centre's operation and services and raise awareness of gender and domestic violence. The team aims to promote equal and functional human relations.
