The 6th Greek Traditional Dance Seminar is coming to Filiatra and is dedicated to Eastern Serres and the musical and dance tradition of the mountainous massif of Menoiki and Vrontos.
The seminar focuses on the dances and local peculiarities of areas such as Alistrati, Darnakochoria, Orini and Xerotopos, highlighting the wealth of tradition that was shaped through the history, natural environment and collective memory of the communities of the region. Through the experiential approach, participants will have the opportunity to experience steps, rhythms and styles that are kept alive to this day.
The seminar will be presented by Stergios Vakoulis, who has deep knowledge and experience in teaching traditional music and our dance heritage.
The event will take place on Sunday, March 15th, 2026, at the Voreeion Cultural Centre of Filiatra, from 10:00 to 17:00. The seminar is aimed at dancers, teachers, club members and any friend of the tradition who wishes to delve deeper into the dance wealth of Eastern Serres.
