The village of Koklas is located between Dorio and Vasiliko and has about 240 permanent residents. It took its name from the “Hani tou Kokla” (Koklas’ hostel), which was located in the area in the middle of the 18th century. The village was created when residents from Vydisova (or Drosopigi) settled, but we do not know the reasons for their relocation.
In the village, the visitor can see the church of Saints Constantine and Helen, built in the late ‘60s, as well as the cemetery church of the Assumption of the Virgin. Also, the Cultural Centre of Kokla, which has rich folklore material and is housed in the old Primary School of the village, is worth visiting.
