"Asteras" Valyra is one of the traditional historical football teams of Messenia, along with "Mavri Thyella", "Pamisos" of Messina, "Apollon" Kalamata, "AEK" Kalamata and other teams.
"Asteras" Valyra was founded in 1951 and re-established in September 1969 and has continuously competed in various categories of championships since then.
