THE MESSENIA HEALTH RUNNING ASSOCIATION organises the 22nd KALAMATA ROAD RACE 10 km. which is dedicated to the Friends of People with Disabilities (SY.F.A.meA) Association

ROUTE
Certified Route by A.I.M.S. The certification was done according to the current regulations of World Athletics. The runner's performance will be official and internationally recognised, meaning that every record achieved will be recognised. The route next to the beach is asphalted and flat, fast, without elevation differences and with a starting point in the central square. Turn around at the end of the beach (Filoxenia hotel) and finish in the central square.

RACE DISTANCE
The Race is 10 km. Along the entire length of the route, there will be a kilometre indicator with a banner for every one (1) kilometre.
Along the 10km route, runners' support stations will be at 5 & 7.5 km.
There will also be pace runners.
REGISTER & PARTICIPATE
The Road Race, 10km, starts at 6.30 pm. Those born in 2008 or earlier (≥16 years old) have the right to participate; for those under 16, the registration will be done electronically by their parent/guardian. (In the case of a minor, the details of the parents who exercise their custody must be filled in, and the submission of the participation application means
that the parents consent to their child's participation in the competition and agree with the content of the participation application).
In the dynamic walking Race, 10 km, starting at 18.30, those born in 2012 and earlier (≥12 years old) have the right to participate.
Children and parents can participate in the 1.5 km children's Race, starting at 18.35.
In the SPECIAL OLYMPICS 1km race, starting at 18.10, disabled people with their companions.
PARTICIPATION COST - REGISTRATION - COLLECTION
10 km Road Race & Dynamic Walking:
- Participation fee €10 (euro).
- Students €5 (euro), with the presentation of the Student ID.
- Unemployed free with proof of document.
The children's Race is 1.5 km. Registration is free and will take place in the Kalamata Central Square from 10:00 to 18:00 on the race day.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS race 1 km. Registration is FREE and will take place in the Kalamata Central Square from 10 am to 6 pm on race day.
Registration for the 10 km race will be done online.
The participation fee is paid online or on the race day at the secretariat.
Secretariat
Entry numbers, electronic timing chips, and technical t-shirts will be collected on the race day at the Kalamata Central Square from 10:00 to 18:00.
ATTENTION: Limited new registrations will be accepted on the Race day from 10:00 to 16:00 at the Secretariat (Central Square).

Upon completion of the registration, you will be able to download an application that will inform you about race issues and provide extensive updates.
The form will open on 19/2/24 and close on Thursday 25/4/24. Part of the income that will arise after the completion of the Race will be allocated to the Association of Friends of People with
Disability (SY.F.A.meA) Prefecture of Messinia.
Terms of Participation
Runners participate in the "race" under their absolute personal responsibility, having undergone the necessary medical examinations and having had the required cardiological check-ups. They also declare that the information stated in the application form is absolutely accurate. They waive all claims against the organisers of the "race" for any physical or other injury or damage from any cause and consent to the unrestricted use of their name/image by the Media, the Organiser, and the sponsors of the "race" for promotional purposes. Finally, they undertake that under no circumstances and for no reason will he assign the participation number that the Race Organising Committee will allocate to them to another person to participate in the "race". Runners accept all the above conditions of participation. (In the case of a minor, the details of the parent exercising the guardianship must be filled in, and the submission of the application for participation means that the parents give their consent for their child's participation in the competition and agree with the content of the application for participation).
AWARDS - PRIZES - BENEFITS
The first six winners and the first six winners of the general classification of the 10 km Race will be awarded.
A cash prize (€300) will be given to the male and female athletes who break the course record in the general category of men (32:38) and women (42:53), respectively.
There will be category results.
There will be no awards in Dynamic Walking.
All participants in the 10 km Dynamic Walking and Children's 1.5 km Races Will Receive a Commemorative Medal.
The awards will take place at 20:00 in the Central Square.
Live RESULTS AND SOUVENIR DIPLOMA
The results will be broadcast Live from https://ftt.gr, where the finishers with the timing chip will immediately have the opportunity to see their performance. The issuing of a commemorative diploma will also be immediate, as participants will be able to "download" the commemorative diploma to their mobile phone immediately after finishing, upload it to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter with the hashtag #KLMT10K and share it with friends and family the joy of termination.
ELECTRONIC TIMING & RESULTS
All participating Runners must wear the timing chip that indicates the athlete's identity in the electronic system and receive it with their participation number from the Race Secretariat. An electronic control and timing zone will record intermediate times in the 5th kilometre.
Only athletes who:
a) participate in the Race validly,
b) present a time indication in the electronic control zones,
c) finish within the race completion time limit and
d) comply with the regulations, will be included in the final results where the final performance and their intermediate times are announced.
When entering the finish area, athletes follow the course the organising committee and volunteers indicated. Runners without a registration number are not allowed to enter the Race and will be blocked from entering the finish line. During the finish, the unofficial results of the matches will be announced immediately on the club's website. In contrast, the official results will be published the next day after the technical committee checks for any objections to the match have been completed.
TIME LIMIT – SAFETY OF COMPETITORS
A time limit of 2h for the Dynamic Walk and 1h30min for the 10km Road Race will be set. After this time limit, Runners who continue their efforts will be obliged to comply with the road traffic code. No cars, motorbikes or other vehicles are allowed to follow the Runners during the Race. For the safe conduct of the Games, the Police Directorate and the Traffic Police of Messinia and over a hundred volunteers will ensure.
REGULATIONS
In addition, mutual understanding and assistance between the Runners is required before, during and after the Race, as required by the sporting ethos and values of fair competition. Individual runners and groups of runners must respect their fellow athletes, not hinder each other in their efforts, and not impede the smooth running
of the Race. In case of non-compliance with the rules, the officials of the Organizing Committee can cancel athletes and delete them from the scoreboard after the competition, evaluating objections and electronic and visual material.
ACCESS TO THE RACE COURSE
All racing routes are accessible from vehicular Traffic. On the road where the athletes are running, non-participants (spectators, attendants, dog companions, motor vehicles, bicycles, etc.) are not allowed to move. In addition to the athletes, ONLY the Traffic Police and the E.M.S., in case of an EMERGENCY, will have access to the route. The movement of escorts between athletes, the failure to show the special permit and the non-compliance with the instructions of the Traffic and those responsible for the event will result in the immediate expulsion of the violators from the route and the cancellation of the accompanied athletes. The watching of the races by spectators, companions and friends of the runners and their movement is only allowed in the areas on either side of the course.
MEDICAL INSURANCE
The Organising Committee provides sanitary coverage of the Race. E.K.A.B. is the health insurance provider. An ambulance will be following the last runners. The organisers will have taken all possible measures to provide medical assistance to protect the athletes. For this reason, there will be a Department of Volunteer Nurses of the E.E.S., Volunteers, E.M.S., and Doctors, as well as ambulances throughout the route of the Race as well as at the start-finish, providing first aid and communicating with those in charge of the sanitary coverage of the matches.
CLOTHING
1. Those who wish can place their personal items and clothing in a designated area.
2. Stick the sticker with your number on the bag, which must be tightly closed and contain no valuables. The organisation is not responsible for loss.
3. After finishing, you will receive your garment by showing your entry number.
CHEMICAL TOILETS
Chemical toilets for the service of the participants will be available at the start-finish
VOLUNTEERING
For the proper and smooth running of the games, the voluntary participation of people who love sports is necessary. Those who would like to offer volunteer work during the match and also during its organisation are requested to send an email to [email protected] and complete the volunteer participation form on the Association's website.
All volunteers will be given T-shirts and a medal of the organisation, as well as material (vests-marking flags), which will be handed over to them during the Technical Briefing on WEDNESDAY, April 24th (18:00-21:00) at the Association's offices (East Centre, Building 31).
