The celebration of the 199th anniversary of the Battle of Verga

On Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, at 11:00, celebrations will be held in the Municipal Community of Verga Almyros, Kalamata, to commemorate the Anniversary of the Battle, which took place on June 22nd, 1826, at the location of Verga Almyros.
PROGRAMME
- Celebration of the Doxology at the Church of Saint Nicholas of Almyros.
- Litany of the Holy Icon and passage of Authorities and the public to the location of Mandra Almyros.
- Memorial Prayer in front of the existing Monument to the Fallen.
- Recitation of the day's solemnity by Ms. Spyridoula Mentza, deputy. Primary Education Educational Service of Messenia Prefecture.
- Laying of wreaths.
- Observing a minute of silence in memory of the fallen.
- Singing of the National Anthem by the Municipal Philharmonic of Kalamata.
- Recitation of poems by students and traditional dances. - The Municipality of Kalamata contributes to the organisation, for which the P.E. of Messenia is responsible.
