The Kalamata Creative Documentary Centre, with an inexhaustible love for art and young artists, is hosting an exhibition of paintings by Kaiti Karydis-Karatzaferis at the Centre's premises from February 26th to March 18th, 2024.
Kaiti Karydis-Karatzaferis, with a brush full of colour and light, creates works that touch the soul. The exhibition is a unique opportunity for the public to get to know her talent up close and get lost in her magical touches. With much love, the exhibition will be dedicated to the memory of Alexandra Skordakis, a close friend of the painter and the Peloponnese International Documentary Festival.
Here are a few words about the artist: Kaiti Karydis-Karatzaferis was born in Kalamata and lived and worked as a bank clerk in Athens for 35 years. She has been living permanently in Kalamata for the last six years. She engaged in painting as an amateur as a release valve from everyday stress. As a self-taught artist, she started painting with oils and, in recent years, mainly with acrylics. Her favourite subjects are olive trees, flowers, stones, the sea, and old doors. She paints or makes jewellery from wire, beads, liquid glass and watch parts in her spare time.
