New Photographic Exhibition at the Iliopoulos Museum
Spread the word
The Iliopoulos Museum announces its new collaboration with the OTE Group Telecommunications Museum. The two museums select photos from their collections and present them at the Iliopoulos Museum routes, with the Woman and her World as the central protagonists.
The exhibition begins with the hosted Telecommunications Museum presenting women famous for their work in Art, Politics, and Sports. The mass media of every era feature women who are recognisable to the public. Their action and promotion contributed to us knowing them so many years later. These famous women talk to the women in the photos of the creator Panos Iliopoulos, who stand in front of his camera with a smile, seriousness, and anxiety, creating around them many additional images of the time, the conditions, the life of the people in the province of Trifylia, in the city of Filiatra.
The photos are a small sample of the OTE Group Telecommunications Museum's collections, which include 13,500 telephotos and 7,000 documented and digitised images. The Iliopoulos Museum has countless photographs digitised and documented, with some exhibited at the Benaki Museum in an exhibition dedicated to their creator.
The exhibition is a tour through time, through the art of photography, through people's lives and above all, through the life of the Woman who, recognisable or not to the general public, Creates, gives life, breaks boundaries, Supports, Challenges, and emphatically completes the landscape of Life.
The exhibition is under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture & Sports and is sponsored by the Captain Vassilis & Carmen Konstantakopoulos Foundation.
