10th Panhellenic Olive Oil and Table Olive Festival

The "10th Kalamata Panhellenic Olive Oil and Table Olive Festival" will take place on Saturday, April 20th, and Sunday, April 21st, 2024. The Festival, co-organised by the Municipality of Kalamata, will take place at the Elysian Luxury Hotel and Spa in the Kordias District of Kalamata. The Festival will start at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 20th.

The thematic sections of the 10th Festival are:

Thematic section A:

Innovative actions for the utilisation of waste
Climate-neutral olive mills.
The environmental footprint of olive mills and olive cultivation.
Water resources in the irrigation of olive cultivation.

Thematic section B:

Biodiversity.
Changing land uses and strengthening it to deal with diseases.
Soil health

Thematic section C:

Agricultural cooperatives.
Modern management models.
Institutional changes.
Messenia.
Cooperative schemes of the Agri-food sector.
New CAP developments.

Thematic section D:

Agritourism – Visitable olive mills and traditional olive groves.
Multifunctional farms.

At the same time, the 1st Agricultural Economic Forum will be held on oranges, potatoes, and olive oil, with producer meetings with the respective companies to achieve the best possible result.

An olive oil competition will be held at the end of the Festival. The tasting committee of competing olive oils will be made up of olive oil tasters, producers, visitors and representatives of institutions, such as the media.
