A Speech on "Colon Cancer: From Prevention to Treatment" will be held on Wednesday, December 11th, at 7:30 pm at the Historical Town Hall of Kalamata.
The event will be coordinated by Victoria Michalopoulou, MD, MSc, General Surgeon and 2nd NHS Supervisor at Kalamata General Hospital.
The lecture will focus on:
- The importance of prevention through healthy habits, such as a balanced diet, regular exercise and timely preventive examinations.
- In early diagnosis, there is an emphasis on the role of regular screening through colonoscopy and other methods.
- The treatment options include modern surgical techniques, radiation therapy, and medication aimed at improving the quality of life and prognosis of patients.
- The speech is addressed to everyone, regardless of age, to inform and raise awareness about one of the most common but treatable forms of cancer when detected early.
