Kalamata Creative Documentary Centre-The Solar Cinema in the Programme of the Kalamata Cultural Summer 2024

Starting Friday, July 19th, from Alagonia, the Kalamata Creative Documentary Centre team will board the Mobile Solar Cinema van and travel the magic of documentary cinema in Kalamata and the communities of the wider Municipality.
Residents and visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy 7 Greek documentary films by renowned producers from the 26th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival programme as part of the Destination-Journey Action. At the same time, on August 11th, in Kalamata, the movie by Emiliano Skartzi Gian will be shown, Paolo Barbieri—Man and Beauty, from the 1st Kardamili International Documentary Art Festival programme.
The screenings are part of the Municipality of Kalamata's Cultural Summer 2024, and admission is free.

The solar mobile cinema started for the first time in Greece in September 2022 from Kalamata. The mission of the Solar World Cinema Network, of which the Creative Documentary Centre is an exclusive member in Greece, is to facilitate access to cinema, raise public awareness and highlight the importance of the transition to renewable energy sources. All mobile solar cinema equipment is powered by 100% solar energy.
