Mouzaki is built at an altitude of 460-481 metres at the foothills of Agia - the second highest peak of the Aigaleo mountain range. The village is located close to Gargaliani. Mouzaki was referred to in various censuses of the Venetian Republic, which took place in the thirty-year period (1683/84-1715).
In the village, visitors can enjoy their coffee or food in the central square. In Mouzaki, there are several churches, such as the church of the Holy Trinity and the chapels of the Ascension of the Savior and that of Agia Kyriaki. The small church of Agia Kyriaki (built on top of Agia) dates back to the beginning of 1900. According to tradition, it was built at the Saint’s suggestion when she appeared in the dream of a village resident. The chapel is celebrated on July 7th, and many believers climb up the mountain on the eve to attend Vespers. Finally, the unique Moutsouri gorge with its magnificent waterfalls for nature lovers is close by.
