The small village of Floka is located near Gargaliani, on the route to Filiatra and Kyparissia. It is built at an altitude of 347-360 metres and has approximately 40 permanent residents. The oldest name of the village was Flocka, which was changed to Floka in 1940. The settlement is mentioned in various censuses of the Venetian Republic, which took place over thirty years (1683/84-1715).
In the village, visitors can walk to the stone springs with the plane tree or visit the church of Agios Dimitrios Neomartyr. Saint Neomartyr Dimitrios was born in Floka in 1779, lived in Chora and was martyred in Tripolis in 1803. There are temples dedicated to him also in Chora, Kalamata and Tripolis. Finally, the village also houses a Folklore Museum in the old Primary School.
