The "Filiatra Chess Club" was founded in 2006 to cultivate, develop and spread the sport at a local and regional level. The training sessions and home matches occur at the "Fournarakeio Spiritual Centre" provided by the "Pyrsos" Filiatra Educational Association.
Every year, the "Filiatra Chess Club" organises chess matches and events, as well as courses, seminars, educational trips, etc.
In conclusion, let us mention that in 2011, the Group received the "Special Sports Recognition" from the General Secretariat of Sports of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
