Dorio Women Association
The "Dorio Women's Association" was founded in 1999 to strengthen the bonds of friendship and solidarity between the members, as well as the general upgrading of the wider region's cultural, educational and spiritual levels.
Every year, the Association organises educational programmes on issues related to women and the family, speeches, cultural events, educational trips, etc. In order to preserve the cultural and popular heritage of the place, the Association has created a folklore collection of old objects - offerings of the inhabitants of the village. The collection is housed on the ground floor of the two-storey stone house of the late doctor Antonios Kotsiopoulos.
In the "Dorio Women's Association", the dance department "DORIES" also operates with the aim of saving tradition and promoting folk music and traditional dances. In fact, the dance department is a member of the "International Dance Council" (CID).
Finally, every August, the Association holds the "Traditional Products Market" in the central square of Dorio, where the village women make all the products with love.
