Kyparissia Sunshine International Folklore Festival
The "Kyparissia Sunshine International Folklore Festival" is held every year by the "Kyparissia Educational and Cultural Association" (M.E.S.K.) in collaboration with the Municipality of Trifylia and the Municipality's Public Benefit Enterprise. The Festival's events take place in Kyparissia, Gargaliani, Kopanaki and Filiatra and dance groups from five countries, as well as Greek groups, participate. The Festival is under the auspices of C.I.O.F.F. ("International Council of Organisers of Folk Culture and Traditional Arts Events") and the "International Dance Council."
It is a leading cultural event in the region, where people of different origins, histories, and cultures meet and strengthen bonds of friendship, peace and cooperation through dance. The Festival includes parallel cultural activities under the title "Feeling our cultural heritage," such as contact with monuments, history, place, customs, cuisine and traditional costumes through exhibitions, workshops, visits and presentations.
