Laurels and Oleanders by Dimitris Kechaides and Eleni Chaviaras

Twenty years after the death of Dimitris Kechaides, the Kalamata Municipal Regional Theatre honours his memory by staging the legendary comedy he co-wrote with Eleni Chaviaras, “Laurels and Oleanders”. Manos Karatzogiannis, with a long tenure in Greek theatre, directs an excellent cast that will tour this summer in selected cities in Greece. Four party leaders, on the eve of the elections, scheme, bluff and conspire, in the thick of our public life. Somewhere, in a room in Arcadia that allusively and playfully carries our post-political traumas, yet transmuting them into stage miracles.
