Maria Garzon will present one of the most important works by J.S. Bach, the Goldberg Variations. The Goldberg Variations (Goldberg-Variationen), BWV 988, is a work by J.S. Bach, written for harpsichord with two keyboards. It consists of one Aria and thirty Variations and is considered today one of the leading examples of the variation technique. They were named after German harpsichord virtuoso, organist and composer Johann Gottlieb Goldberg (1727 - 1756). The work was published in 1741 as the fourth part of a series of Bach's keyboard works, with the general title "Exercise for keyboard consisting of an aria with various variations for harpsichord with two keyboards". The cover even describes it as a work for the mental delight of music lovers!
