"Androuvista" Historical and Folklore Museum
The Historical and Folklore Museum "Androuvista" is located at the village of Exochori, (Xexori), and is housed in the building of the old Primary School. Until 1932, the village was known as Androuvista.
Here, the visitor can see objects of the folklore tradition of the place that have been made by local craftsmen since the beginning of the 20th century. All the objects of the museum were offered by the inhabitants of the village.
The Historical and Folklore Museum collection includes local costumes, weapons, agricultural tools, textiles, a Mani loom, etc. The exhibition of old photographs, in which the visitor can see the way the inhabitants of Exochori used to live, stands out, as well as the collection of coins and banknotes from 1822 to 2002. Also, the Museum has been granted with the ruined olive mill of the Koumoutseas family by the Municipal Authority. The mill has been restored since 2009 and is open to the public.
