BIG FAIR IN VALYRA

Valyra is preparing to welcome a three-day festival full of music, dance, traditions and sports events, as part of its established festival. The events will take place in the courtyard of the Valyra Primary School and promise unforgettable moments for residents and visitors.

The festival is organised by the "THAMYRIS" Valyra Cultural Association and the Municipal Community of Valyra under the auspices of the Municipality of Messina.

Detailed programme of events:

SATURDAY, JUNE 7th, 2025

22:00 – Music evening: The festival will begin with a special musical evening. Vasilis Vilos will be on the clarinet, while Panagiotis Malamas will perform folk songs.

SUNDAY, JUNE 8th, 2025

21:30 – Presentation of Traditional Dances: The dance department of the "THAMYRIS" Association will present traditional dances, showcasing the rich Greek cultural heritage.
22:00 – Musical evening: A second musical evening with folk songs by Stavros Batalias follows. Alexandros Stratis and Vasiliki Doxi will perform the folk song. Konstantinos Chrysanthakopoulos will be on the clarinet and Nikolaos Stathakis on the violin.

MONDAY, JUNE 9th, 2025 – VALYRIA 2025 The last day of the festival is dedicated to "Valyria 2025", with a rich programme that combines religious, athletic and cultural events:

07:00 – Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Church: The day begins with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Church.

10:30 – At the end of the service, roast pig and plenty of wine will be offered: After the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Cultural Association "THAMIRIS" in collaboration with the voluntary participation of the Valyra Women's Association, will offer those present suckling pig and plenty of wine, in an atmosphere of celebration and feasting.

18:30 – Sacrifice Route: The established "Sacrifice Route" will take place.
18:45 – Athletics: Various athletics competitions will follow.
19:45 – Presentation of Traditional Dances: The dance department of the "THAMYRIS" Association will once again treat the audience to moments of tradition and beauty with a presentation of traditional dances.
20:30 – Awards: The "curtain" of the three-day event will fall with the awards to the winners of the athletics competitions.
All residents of Valira and the surrounding areas, as well as visitors, are invited to attend and enjoy the events that have been prepared with love and care.
