“7th International Puppet Festival of Kalamata”

From Monday, October 16^th to Tuesday, October 24^th, the “7^th International Puppet Festival of Kalamata” will be held in Kalamata. Nine days of continuous theatrical celebration in two different indoor theatres in the city and many other outdoor spaces.

During the festival, 35 performances for all ages will be presented by 17 distinguished troupes from Greece, Germany, France, Spain, Chile and Israel. Among them, there will be five local puppet and shadow theatre groups. There will also be six outdoor events, six theatre workshops-seminars for children and adults, and musical events, parades and exhibitions.

Workshops-seminars for adults and teachers:

• Monday, October 16^th (10:00-12:00): “The paper theatre in the museum narrative”. (paper theatre/toy) by Fai Tsitou of the “Divers” group.

Kalamata Experimental Stage. Up to 20 participants.

• Tuesday, October 17^th-Thursday, October 19^th (15:00-18:00): “Puppet animation and adults’ physical theatre workshops”. Nikos Tombros, puppeteer of the “ANDAMAPANTACHOU” group.
