"Vasilis Konstantakopoulos" State Airport started its operation in 1959. Charter flights began in 1986, and the new terminal was constructed in 1991.
"Vasilis Konstantakopoulos" State Airport is only 9 km from the centre of Kalamata, and its facilities cover an area of 2450 sq. metres. It has two arrival halls, two departure halls and a passenger waiting room. It also has a parking lot for 70 vehicles, but parking is not allowed for long periods due to the limited space.
