Andronis is the capital village of mountainous Ilia, located on the Foloi Plateau. It got its name because of its geographical location and because it is situated between two steep, wooded ravines forming a natural fortress (Andros).
ROUTE.
The path to the gorge starts and ends in the village square after crossing a circle through a magical landscape!
Two rivers run along Andronis Gorge.
The Sellienta SE of Andronis village and the Paliopotamos NW of Andronis.
These two rivers/streams join at the SW of Andronios.
The surrounding slopes are full of oak trees, while next to the rivers, there are colossal plane trees, which hide the sun and give coolness to passing hikers.
At the same time, you will discover a magic you rarely find with old watermills, caves and rich vegetation!
This adventure, the Andronis Gorge crossing, is also recommended for beginners in good physical condition.
Circular route easy and passable for hikers with basic physical condition, degree of difficulty: A
__Distance: 9 km.
__Running times: 4:00 - 4:30 (+/-) including refreshment stops.
__Start appointment: 7:00 a.m. behind the offices of the Association, in front of the 24th Primary School entrance.
__Travel by luxury air-conditioned coach.
__Travel cost: 22 euros (members-students-children) and 25 euros (non-members).
___Seats are strictly reserved upon ticket purchase. Anyone who fails to come and has paid will be refunded half the ticket cost.
Food in Ancient Olympia, free time of 1:30 - 2:00 hours (depending on available time).
