The Kalamata Creative Documentary Centre continues its regular Monday screening of selected documentary titles from the 10th Peloponnese International Documentary Festival programme that were not screened in Kalamata.
On Monday, February 10th, 2025, at 8 p.m., at DocCafe, Luciana Kaplan's documentary "Invisibility Pact" (Tratado de Invisibilidad), a shocking documentary about the "invisible" women who clean up Mexico City, will be presented.
With sensitivity and penetration, the director records the stories and experiences of these women, who work in precarious conditions and are paid meagre wages. The film reveals their challenges, including their lack of recognition and marginalization. At the same time, it highlights their strength, dignity, and contribution to society.
"The Invisibility Pact" is a cry of anguish about labour insecurity and injustice. A mix of documentary and fiction creates a polyphonic mosaic that demonstrates the consequences of the outsourcing model in Mexico. The film has received rave reviews for its aesthetics, narrative power, and social significance.
A few words about the director:
Luciana Kaplan is an accomplished documentary filmmaker. She studied at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in Mexico City. To her credit, she has four feature-length documentaries and several short films and has won awards at many national and international festivals.
