

Dialiskari is a coastal location that is 2 km from the village of Marathopolis and 6 km from Gargaliani. It is an ideal tourist destination with many accommodations and sandy beaches. Opposite Dialiskari is the island of Proti.
During the decade of 1920-1930, in the port of Dialiskari (which is identified with the ancient city of Erana), important ancient findings of historical interest from, mainly, the Roman times came to light. Specifically, mosaic floors, tombs, tanks, Ionic and Corinthian columns, remains of buildings and fortifications, as well as inscriptions were found. Also, in the west, near the sea, salt collection facilities were located, while at a distance of 500 meters north of the archaeological site, an ancient limestone mine was located.
