Kalamata Public Central Library-With a book, the library goes to school

Spread the word

The Public Central Library of Kalamata continues the successful book-loving programme "Embrace a book, the library goes to school" and invites you, in collaboration with the 1st Primary School of Kalamata, to the presentation of Alkistis Chalikia's books "A Shaken School" and "Like a Power Outage" (Ikaros Publications). The event will take place on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, at 6:00 PM, in the 1st Primary School of Kalamata's event hall.
Alkistis Chalikia's books explore, with sensitivity and humour, the world of children, the changes, challenges and small revolutions of their everyday lives. Through their stories, the young heroes discover new ways of seeing school, friendship and the environment around them, inviting readers to participate in this experience. The book "Like Power Outages" stood out and was included in the 2024 State Literary Awards shortlists.
The event, which the VIVLIOPOLIS bookstore and Ikaros Publications support, will allow younger and older audiences to meet the author, discuss her books with her and discover the magic of reading. Admission is free for children, parents, teachers and all those who love literature.
The book-loving programme "Embrace a book, the library goes to school" of the Public Central Library of Kalamata is carried out with the support of the Captain Vasilis and Carmen Konstantakopoulos Foundation and continues dynamically. It promises to offer more events, bring more authors closer to students and strengthen the relationship between the library, school communities and the local society.
