Kalamata Mountaineering Association-Climbing Ostrakina on Mount Mainalo

The Kalamata Mountaineering Association is organising a winter climb to the highest peak of Mainalo, Ostrakina (1,981m), on Sunday, February 16th. Starting from the ski resort at 1600m, the climb to the highest point of Mainalo will begin with the sweeping view of the entire central Peloponnese and its most important mountain ranges from there, an impressive and rewarding effort. After the descent from the peak, a wonderful path will be followed through a dense fir forest, which ends in the picturesque settlement of Levidi, Arcadia.
Difficulty level: 2 or 5 (depending on whether snow is present). In winter conditions, relevant equipment and good physical condition are required.
Walking time: ~ 6 hours
Departure will occur from the Association's offices on Sunday, 16/02/2025, at 7:00 a.m.
