Kalamata Creative Documentary Centre-Focus on the environment: “2040” by Damon Gameau

On Friday, September 15th (at 21:00), the Australian documentary, “2040”, will be screened at “Doc Café”, examining the effects of climate change in the next 20 years, as well as today’s existing technologies that can reverse the effects. Practical solutions to environmental concerns are addressed in the hope that the director’s daughter (21 years old in 2040) will face a hopeful future.
Directed by: Damon Gameau
Duration: 92’
Country: Australia, 2020
A new season begins for “Doc Café” and the Kalamata Creative Documentary Centre with a rich screening programme and "environment" being the central theme. After a summer full of documentaries in Messenia with the Mobile Solar Cinema, the standard Monday screenings return to the Centre (6 Koutsomitopoulou Str., near Othonos Square).
The screening programme is also shown in Elefsina (2023 European Culture Capital), part of a more extensive tribute aiming to synthesise ecological messages using audio-visual media creatively and originally.
