Palaiokastro
On the south side of Voidokilia beach, this medieval castle that the Franks built in the 13th century with stones from the ancient settlement of Pylos and the temple of Athena Koryfasias is settled.
From the preserved ruins of the castle, the view in every direction is fantastic.
The Ionian Sea stretches in front of it, whereas the large Gialova lagoon can be seen behind it. In the north, you will see the round beach of Voidokilia, and in the south, Navarino Bay and Pylos.
The path from Voidokilia is inaccessible but shorter than the one in Divari (on the castle's south side), which is more paved. But, no matter how you reach the castle, the view will compensate you.
