Information Day and Regional Circular Economy Workshop in Kalamata

The Green Fund, the Ministry of Environment and Energy (YPEN), the Region of Peloponnese, the Municipality of Kalamata, the Peloponnese Solid Waste Management Agency (Fo.D.S.A.) and the Ecological Recycling Society (OEA) are co-organising and invite you to the "Information Day and Regional Circular Economy Workshop", from 21st to 23rd October 2024, in Kalamata (Municipal Cultural Centre) - "Pantazopouleios Folk School", Room: Reading Room of the Folk Library of Kalamata), in the framework of the LIFE-IP Project CEI-Greece – LIFE18 IPE/GR/000013 "Implementation of the Circular Economy in Greece".
The Project is coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented in collaboration with 19 strategic partners, including the Green Fund and OEA. The ultimate goal of LIFE-IP CEI-Greece is to contribute to the implementation of the National Waste Management Plan, the National Waste Prevention Program and the National Strategy for the Circular Economy.
Specifically, on 21st October 2024, 12:00-15:20, the Information Day will be addressed to the general public. The aim is to present the LIFE-IP CEI-Greece Project, highlight successful circular economy practices that can be applied in the Peloponnese and generally better understand the issues related to it.
In addition, the Three-Day Regional Capacity Building Workshop will be held on 21st October, 16:30-21:00; 22nd October, 09:30-15:00; and 23rd October, 09:30-16:00, during which issues related to the circular economy will be analysed, experiential exercises will be implemented, and examples from the Project partners will be presented. The workshops aim to train all interested parties who are called to design and implement circular waste management solutions, such as municipalities, industries, SMEs, farmers' associations, professional and industrial chambers, local tourism associations, NGOs, etc.
Please note that on 22nd October, 15:00-17:30, OEA will hold a Swap Party where visitors will have the opportunity to bring unwanted clothes and exchange them for "new" used clothes. The action aims to implement circular economy practices, reduce the environmental footprint and provide information on textile waste's environmental and socio-economic effects.
