Filmhouse/New Cinema Club of Kalamata-Life is a Miracle
Spread the word
Luka is a 40-year-old railroad company engineer who was in 1992 war-ready Bosnia. Despite this, Luka continues his life at an average pace, deciding to realize his life's dream: the construction of an amusement park train in his village, with the belief that it will become a tourist attraction. He has his wife and his 18-year-old son as supporters in his daring. But everyone's life will change drastically as soon as his wife runs off with a musician and his son is called to serve in the army.
The great auteur of world cinema, "our" global Balkan Kusturitsa, continues to enchant viewers with his well-known creative energy. Sorrow, lamentation, politics, love and war, with the well-known accompaniment of the most appropriate background music, make their appearance and masterfully make anyone who watches the film a participant in the "Balkan madness" and an absolutely sui generis cinematic universe.
The film received nominations at many festivals around the world, winning at Cannes the National Education System Award as well as the César Award for the best European film of 2005
