Filmhouse/New Kalamata Cinema Club-“Les miens”
Spread the word
On Thursday, August 17th (at 21:30), the movie "Les Miens" will be screened by the "Filmhouse/New Cinema Club of Kalamata".
The film is the story of Moussa and Ryad, two brothers utterly different from each other. The one who is kind, generous and a good family man, and the TV presenter who is criticised for his selfishness by those around him, except for his brother, who admires him. One day Moussa falls and suffers a concussion. Unrecognisable after that, he now speaks without mincing his words and tells his people what he really thinks of them. He ends up falling out with everyone except Ryad.
Sibling bonds remain the least explored of all the family relationships seen in movies. Versatile French director Rosdi Zem redresses this imbalance with his charming, unpretentious, yet personal new film. It is a good-hearted, beautifully acted, bright dialogue burst that doesn't reinvent the "wheel" but intersperses the family drama genre with a good-natured and tender look.
A film directed and acted with so much love that it's hard to believe these people aren't a real family!
