"Ancient Pylos"-Konstantina Kolokythas-Stamatelopoulos Foundation
The "Ancient Pylos" - Konstantina Kolokythas-Stamatelopoulos Foundation is a private initiative aiming to promote cultural heritage, the region's social and economic development, and the environment's protection.
The immediate plans of the Foundation include the establishment of scholarships for excellent students originating from Chora, as well as the promotion and learning of Linear B writing.
Konstantina Kolokythas-Stmatelopoulos was born in Chora Trifylia and studied in Athens and London, where she has lived until today. Under the pseudonym "Floisvi Althea", she has published a series of poetry collections, such as "Space-Time" ("Militos" publications) etc.
The Foundation's logo was designed with a Doric approach to Linear B by Varvara Filippopoulos, skilfully "weaving" the letters "K" and "S".
In conclusion, let us mention that the Foundation recently donated a significant amount of money to the Archaeological Museum of Chora to create the new antiquities hall. At the same time, it was proposed to preserve the Marinatos house and convert it into a workshop for Linear B writing.
