"E.Y.T.Y.X.I.A."-Day Centre for Children and Adolescents with Autism of Messenia
The "E.Y.T.Y.X.I.A."-Day Centre for Children and Adolescents with Autism of Messenia, was founded in June 2009 by the Messenia Association of Parents, Guardians and Friends of Autistic People. It is a mental health structure whose purpose is the therapeutic care of children with autism and the support of their families.
The Day Centre operates in two adjacent buildings, providing services to approximately 30 children and adolescents, as well as their families. The Day Centre also runs an Early Intervention programme for children from 2.5 years of age diagnosed with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder). It comprises a multidisciplinary therapeutic team of psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, social workers, special educators and volunteers.
