Messenia Agri-Food Entrepreneurship Centre
The "Messenia Agri-Food Entrepreneurship Centre" was created in 2016 by the "Captain Vassilis & Carmen Konstantakopoulos Foundation" and the "American Agricultural School-Perrotis College" with the support of the "Peloponnese and Ionian Islands Development and Progress Company" and the Municipality of Kalamata.
The centre's purpose is to strengthen entrepreneurship in Messenia’s agri-food sector. K.A.E.M.'s services offered to the local community are based on scientific data on the application of production processes and services and the cumulative experience of the "American Agricultural School" in the field of Experiential Adult Education.
The Centre's first cycle of actions focuses on implementing experiential seminars. The trainees' active engagement during the workshops is significant for assimilating knowledge. Thus, the Theory-Practice distribution of the seminars is, on average, 30%- 70%, depending on the type and content of each topic.
The second cycle of actions concerns consulting services, and the Centre offers consulting support focused on establishing a new business and developing existing business prospects. Consulting is provided on business planning and marketing issues as well as technical issues related to agricultural holdings, food processing and organisation of production facilities.
