"Maria Callas" Music School Alumni Association
The "Maria Callas" Music School Alumni Association, founded in 2007, is a vibrant hub of culture. Its mission is to celebrate and support the Kalamata Music School and the creation of diverse cultural events, from music to theatre and sculpture. Membership is exclusive to "Maria Callas" Music School graduates, offering unique opportunities to connect with fellow alumni and participate in cultural initiatives.
Since its inception, the Association has been a beacon of cultural activity, organising over 300 hours of open seminars covering a wide range of disciplines, from vocals to classical percussion and sculpture. It has also staged more than 15 theatrical performances, from ancient drama to modern and classical repertoire. This diverse range of events ensures something for everyone in its alum community.
On the premises of the Kalamata Music School, the Association maintains a valuable exhibition dedicated to the great Maria Callas and her actions. In the exhibition space (which anyone who wishes can visit for free), seven letters from Maria Callas' archive and a series of banners with information about the soprano's life and career are on display. Finally, in the space, there are objects, music books, costumes (more than 180 in number) and masks from the Association's productions and performances, as well as archival material from publications and actions, a library with writings, etc.
