In 2005, the Association of Parents & Guardians of the KEKYKAmeA (Education, Social Support, Training Centre for People with Disabilities) of Messenia was founded. In 2012, it was renamed the "YPOMONI (Patience)" Association of Parents & Guardians of the Disabled of the Prefecture of Messenia.
The Association aims to support the education, training, accommodation and social support provided to people with disabilities, the establishment and operation of creative employment workshops, as well as the awareness and information of society.
Every year, the "YPOMONI" Association organises scientific, educational and artistic events, as well as actions to inform and raise awareness of the local community.
