Kalamata International Music Days

The "Kalamata International Music Days" is an annual classical music festival held in the city of Kalamata. It was founded by Indira Rahmatulla, cellist, who has taken over the Artistic Direction, Stathis Gyftakis, composer and Artistic Director of the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata, and cellist Dimitris Lambos.

The festival is organised by the Municipality of Kalamata, the Non-profit Enterprise "Faris," and the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata. It is also supported by the "TERPSIS" Parents and Guardians of the Students and Friends of the Municipal Art Schools of Kalamata Association. It takes place under the sponsorship and auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Region of Peloponnese. The "George and Victoria Karelia Foundation" is also a significant festival sponsor.

The festival is not just about performances and workshops. It's a platform that actively contributes to the improvement of the city's musical educational structures. Since the summer of 2017, it has taken the form of an International Festival focusing on artistic creation and pedagogical/teaching work. This unique approach has earned it the recognition of quality art festivals EFFE LABEL 2022-2023.
