Kalamata International Dance Festival

The "Kalamata International Dance Festival" was created in the spring of 1995 within the National Cultural Network of Cities framework to support, promote and present the art of dancing. The festival is organised by the Municipality of Kalamata and the Public Benefit Enterprise "Faris" in collaboration with the Region of Peloponnese and the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

The "Kalamata International Dance Festival" is synonymous with the flourishing of modern dance in Greece. Since 1995, it has been "fueling" the public with works dedicated to the quality of the human body, hosting creators who write the very history of modern dance. Specifically, during the festival, leading Greek and foreign artists present their work to the city's citizens and art-loving visitors worldwide. At the same time, events (music, theatre performances, visual arts, photography, cinema) are held, as well as multi-day seminars and dance workshops by renowned dancers, choreographers and dance teachers.
