"The New Romania"-The Pontic Greeks of Messenia Association was founded in 2022 and has 60 active members. The Association's purpose is to preserve and spread Pontus's traditions and history through a series of cultural events (participation in festivals, conducting dance seminars, educational tours, screening documentaries, etc.). Members can include people who don't share the Pontic origin but love tradition and want to learn the history and customs of Pontus.
The Club is open every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (from 21:15), and dance teacher Mr. Andreas Metaxas teaches Pontic dance lessons for adults on its premises. The Association's immediate plans include operating a children's section of Pontic dances and learning the lyre.
