"Yioryitsa's Backyard" - Brunch/Tavern
In the historic centre of beautiful Kardamyli, walking through its narrow, colourful alleys with the houses that continue to preserve their picturesqueness, do not neglect to take a walk to "Yioryitsa's Backyard" that spread its tables under the shade of the trees and began to bring life to the picturesque pedestrian street, gathering a colourful audience.
Voula, the soul of "Avlitsa", decided, and she did well in our opinion, to take advantage of her parental home and create a rest area with modern aesthetics and function, keeping its proud mani soul intact. You will go to "Yiorgitsa's Backyard" for coffee, brunch, the light meal of the day, but also your entertainment since it is a place that, especially in the summer, also functions as a place of culture, hosting various cultural events with well-known and lesser-known names of the artistic firmament.
Upon arrival, Voula herself will welcome you with her genuine smile and make you feel at home in a place that combines some urban characteristics with those of a village, a village with its own history, its flowery courtyards, the bright colours. Commonly recommended by all is the traditional Greek coffee, the tsipouro or ouzo with meze, while admiring the decoration that reminds us of other times. The carefully chosen and tasty dishes, the unique appetisers, the variety of wines, ouzo or cold beer, the fast service and excellent prices guarantee your enjoyment.
In "Avlitsa", they highlight their cuisine using products of the Mani land, starting from the extra virgin olive oil to fresh vegetables and eggs and cheeses and local meats, keeping the quality of the Mediterranean diet high.
It is a favourite hangout for any time of the day: from the morning, "Avlitsa" serves coffee, handmade sweets of the day and delicious snacks, fresh juices and of course, drinks with mani herbs, eggs, grilled vegetables, toasted bread, etc. Is there a better motivation for waking up in the morning?
Today you will see foreign visitors drinking coffee there, new parents (with their little ones), dog parents (because if Voula's cafe is not dog friendly, then which one is?) generally, people of all ages.
"Yiorgitsa's Backyard" awaits you in Kardamyli. In the Historical Centre.
