On the road connecting the coastal villages of Mani with the more mountainous ones, the village of Pyrgos can be found. Its location operates as a natural observatory of the entire region and is well known for its unique view of the Messinian gulf.
One of the oldest villages in the area. The first one to have a tower, that’s how it got its name, “pyrgos” in Greek meaning tower.
If you visit Pyrgos enjoy the breathtaking view, walk to its cobblestone narrow streets and admire the picturesque stone houses and interior courtyards.
