Kalamata Road Race

The "Kalamata Road Race" is organised annually in Kalamata and is a celebration with a good cause for all participants.
It was held for the first time in 2001. The action's organiser is the "Association of Health Runners of Messenia" (SDYM) in collaboration with the Regional Unit of Messenia of the Peloponnese Region. The Race is organised under the auspices of the "Hellenic Federation of Mass Sports-Ultra-Distance Associations" (EOSLMA-Y). The starting and finishing point is the central square of Kalamata, and the road race is divided into the following categories:
- Road Race (10 kilometres)
- Dynamic Walking: (10 kilometres)
- Special Olympics race (1 kilometre)
- Children's Race (1.5 km)
