10th Peloponnese International Documentary Festival/Kalamata Creative Documentary Centre-ADESPOTA KORMIA

A girl from Malta, Robin, is pregnant but not ready for motherhood. Katerina from Italy wants to become a mother, but she can't. And Kiki from Greece asks to die (live!) with dignity, trying to "go away" by euthanasia. In their countries, which could be most European countries, the obstacles and dead ends they encounter follow one another, making the protagonists drivers at the wheel of a feminine and, simultaneously, a universal road movie.
With her first documentary, the acclaimed filmmaker Elina Psykou puts us inside the labyrinth of the modern world, staring at the toxic amalgam we have created: a world where we are free to choose consumerism. Still, we do not have the right to a self-determined body. Abortion, in vitro fertilization and euthanasia, how much we own our bodies and our lives are the mirrors in a social kaleidoscope that is constantly changing shape and form, and the director directly accommodates opposing views and alternative opinions, presenting this sociological riddle globally.
The film has been distinguished internationally, both in festivals and by critics. It has won 4 awards and received the same number of nominations, with the two awards at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival 2024 standing out.
