"Athlos" Kalamata Gymnastics Club
The "Athlos" Gymnastic Club was founded in 1997 by gymnast and trampoline coach Vassilis Angelakos and is one of the first Clubs that dealt with trampoline in Greece at a championship level. The club has highlighted great athletes with distinctions in national and international competitions, such as Panhellenic, Pan-European, World championships and Olympiads.
In 1998, the Group became a member of E.G.O. ("Hellenic Gymnastics Federation") and the E.O.F.S.A. ("Hellenic Federation of Anti-Fighting Fan Clubs") while in 2003 it was transferred to a privately owned modern training facility.
At the "Athlos" Club, there are sections for all ages, even from the age of 3, where, in the form of games, children learn the basic skills of the trampoline. The following departments also operate:
- Parkour-Freerunning: consists of running, rolling, jumping, breaking through obstacles, climbing walls, etc.
- Tricking: a new sport rooted in martial arts and combines elements from various styles (tae kwon do, wushu, capoeira), instrumental gymnastics and dance (break dance).
- Breakdance: a combination of dance and acrobatics
- Aerial Silk: aerial gymnastics with the help of unique sails
- Aerial Hoop: aerial gymnastics with the help of a hoop
- Trapeze: aerial gymnastics with an acrobatic swing
- Aquatic swimming sections
The Club also operates adult classes: Aerial Pilates-Yoga, Acro Yoga (acrobatic exercises combined with self-concentration) and Aqua Fitness (strengthening and tightening practices in the water).
Finally, during the summer months, the Club organises children's creative activities, while throughout the year, it undertakes the organisation of birthday parties with educational games, dancing and a lot of trampoline.
